American Horror STORIES – Season 3

For this season of American Horror Stories, I was the Account VFX Supervisor. One of three Ryan Murphy Television productions filming at the same time in the New York/New Jersey area. Scheduling was only possible because the executives were largely the same for all the shows. And I had the help of an additional VFX supervisor on set and in the VFX office.

American Horror STORY – Season 12

For the twelfth season of American Horror Story I was the Account VFX Supervisor. This was the second of three Ryan Murphy Television productions filming at the same time in the New York/New Jersey area. This was only possible with the help of an additional VFX supervisor on set and in studio and similar executives.

Role: Production VFX Supervisor

American SPORTS STORY – Season 1

This was the last of three RMTV productions filming at the same time in the New York/New Jersey area. I shared this show with the head of creative at FuseFX NY. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish this project due my contract expiring before post production wrapping. It was not economical with staff supervisors available and the other with the other two shows had already delivered, especially after the actor’s strike.

American Horror STORY – Season 11

After The Watcher I immediately moved on to American Horror Story for FX. This was a very challenging season due to a mid production acceleration of air dates from one episode a week to two episodes a week. The pre-acceleration episodes were difficult because of the impacted time and the post-acceleration episodes were difficult because I had to find many creative practical solutions and say no a lot to the directors and producers when I could not.

Role: Production VFX Supervisor

The WATCHER

This was my return as a full VFX Supervisor and my first show with Ryan Murphy Television from start to finish. The challenges here were mostly the house build on stage vs actual house on location and various weather related issues.

Role: Production VFX Supervisor

WU-TANG: An American Saga – Season 2

For the second season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga, I was exclusively prepping and On Set, post was with another Supervisor. The ensemble cast, fantastical themes, and Covid made of a unique experience.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

Halston

On Halston I came in to a tough situation, where the original supervisor was unable to effectively communicate with the directors and producers. While I initially came in to only help, I eventually took over all VFX production duties for the duration of principal photography and returned the show to original supervisor when we got into post.

Role: Production VFX Supervisor

The Flight Attendant – Season 1

Covid split this show in half. During the first half I had to reluctantly leave the project to potentially help on another project in need but that need never materialized. After we were allowed to return to work I was brought back on to finish the show.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

Tommy

For Tommy the primary challenge was the NYC for LA locations, which is quite funny since it’s usually the opposite problem.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

Katy Keene

This was a fun and whimsical production to be a part of but not to much in terms of complicated VFX.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

HighTown – Season 1

Boats, freezing temperatures, parades in Provincetown, CG crabs in tide pools, etc; Hightown ran the gamut.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

Jessica JONES – SEASON 3

This was the last of the Netflix/Marvel collaboration. My largest contribution to this season was getting a large ferris wheel VFX sequence shot practically.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

THE WOLF HOUR

I spent some time prepping and shooting this independent film while prepping Jessica Jones Season 3.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

DareDEVIL – SEASON 3

Explosions, gun fights, fist fists, 5 minute oners, brutally cold rooftop, a month of night shoots; Daredevil Season 3 had it all and more.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

Jessica JONES – SEASON 2

My first season of television with Netflix/Marvel machine and when I fully moved away from commercials as an exclusive On-Set Supervisor. Somehow the work/life balance I was looking for was in a sector where no one else had it.

Role: On-Set VFX Supervisor

Madam Secretary – Various seasons

I worked on various seasons of Madam Secretary as an On-Set Supervisor during my transition out of being a VFX Supervisor in commercials.
